- Andreas Kalvos: Correspondence
A new publication on Andreas Kalvos, one of the most important Greek poets, contemporary of the Greek Independence War, will be launched at the Benaki Museum on May 6. The two-volume publication of the poet’s Correspondence (1813-1869), edited by Dimitris Arvanitakis, in collaboration with Lefkios Zafeiriou, presents for the first time to the public the complete set of letters, of which the poet was recipient or sender. Some 388 letters and notes reveal the details of his life and his intellectual formation, the diverse environments in which he moved (Italy, Switzerland, England, France, Greece) and the people with whom he interacted.
