The Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens is organising a 15-day boutique tour in Greece that will take place in September, with a focus on areas where Australian archaeologists work, such as on the island of Andros, where the University of Sydney carries out excavations in an attempt "to clarify the mystery of the sudden abandonment of the Geometric settlement of Zagora will at its peak (9th century BC).

The 15-day tour in Greece is sponsored by the Institute, the University of Sydney and the Australian Research Council. It aims to promote cultural exchanges between the two countries and to highlight Australia’s cultural contribution. The Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens (Facebook) has been operating in Greece since 1981, but the excavation projects began as early as the 1960s.

Upcoming events are a guided tour at Ancient Megara (April 4), a lecture on ancient Greek culture as well as on the excavations in Andros. More information is available here.
