George Garinis heads the Genome (In)stability and Mammalian Physiology lab at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, in Heraklion, Crete, Greece. His research focuses on DNA repair, ageing, genomics and bioinformatics with the aim to identify the natural defence mechanisms that attempt to counteract age-related pathology and prolong lifespan.
