From March 13-22, the creative industries attended the SXSW, the institution which was the first to introduce Twitter and Foursquare to the world. The South by Southwest conferences & festivals is a launching pad for new creative content in the fields of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies.

The conference panel discussions and trade shows organised provide opportunities for global networking and business activity. Greece was represented by thirty young entrepreneurs from twenty-two startup businesses.

The Greek mission was supported by the International Accelerator, a U.S. based company founded by a Greek, which specialises in seed funding, the Hellenic Initiative, as well as the Athens Centre of Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Athens University of Economics and Business. The Greek startups that participated at this year’s event represent a variety of fields ranging from art and culture to technological products and services.
