  • Dimitris Sgouros plays @ Megaron
Acclaimed Greek pianist Dimitris Sgouros will be making a unique appearance at the Athens Concert Hall tonight. Sgouros, whose sensitivity and unrivalled skill have earned him a place among the world’s leading pianists and who has been described as a musical phenomenon will perform a recital of works by Beethoven, Chopin and Liszt. 
  • The Soldier's Story @ Thessaloniki Concert Hall
Kyklos Ensemble and the theater group Q2 are performing Igor Stravinsky’s theatrical work The Soldier’s Tale (1918) at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall on February 6 and 7.

 The play, based on a Russian folk legend was the result of the cooperation and friendship of Igor Stravinsky with the writer Charles-Ferdinand Ramuz; it adopted numerous experiments and has been known as the theatrical work "to be read, played, and danced."

  • Dimitris Mytaras & Colleagues @ Benaki Museum
The exhibition Dimitris Mytaras and his colleagues in the Athens School of Fine Arts will run at the Benaki Museum until March 8. It was an initiative of all his co-workers at the School of Fine Arts and it includes important works from his teenage years up to today, such as "Mirrors" 1960-1964, "Dictatorship" 1966-1970, "Funerary" 1971-1976, "Portraits" 1977-1987 and "Theatre Scenes" 1988-1991.

  • Professors – Artists @ State Museum of Contemporary Art
An exhibition of the artistic teaching staff of the department of Fine and Applied Arts, School of Fine Arts of Aristotle University was inaugurated yesterday (February 4) at the State Museum of Contemporary Art, Moni Lazariston, Thessaloniki.


In the exhibition Professors – Artists, twenty visual artists, who make up the artistic faculty of the School, showcase their artistic work and the transformation of the basic ingredients of art into teaching materials. The exhibition and the rich parallel program that accompanies the event set the potentials and the questions about teaching art today.

  • 2nd New Choreographers Festival
The 2nd New Choreographers Festival will take place at the Onassis Cultural Center on February 14-17. Under the artistic direction of Katia Arfara, the event will showcase the work of Artemis Lampiri, Lia Tsolaki, Kiriakos Hadjioannou and Georgia Vardarou, of four aspiring choreographers whose work stands out for its artistry, aesthetic and technique.

  • Tribute to Andrei Tarkovsky @ Greek Film Archives
A tribute to famous cinematographer Andrei Tarkovsky will run at the Greek Film Archives from February 12 to 18. The programme will include 7 long feature films, 3 documentaries on Tarkovsky’s life and works, lectures and exhibitions.
