The Greek government received a vote of confidence from Parliament early this morning, in a roll-call vote held after a three-day debate unveiling its policy statement. The 162 votes in favour came exclusively from the two parties supporting the ruling coalition, with 149 from SYRIZA's bloc and 13 from the Independent Greeks (ANEL)

The vote took place just after Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras delivered a speech in which he clarified that the government is not negotiating the memorandum that was cancelled by its very own failure. He reiterated that Greece is seeking a bridge programme between the memorandum and the post-memorandum era, which cannot be accompanied by more austerity measures.
