Talks between
Greece and its EU partners on the country's fiscal programme will continue at the Eurogroup meeting on Monday (February 16), President Jeroen Dijsselbloem
said at a press conference earlier today, after yesterday's meeting in Brussels; he added that there would be no joint statement.
According to
media reports, a previously agreed joint statement was withdrawn last minute due to objections from the Greek delegation, which was led by Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis and Deputy Prime Minister Yiannis Dragasakis.

"We explored a number of issues, one of which was the current programme," said Dijsselbloem. "We discussed the possibility of an extension. For some that is clear that is preferred option but we haven't come to that conclusion as yet. We will need a little more time."
Varoufakis in a brief statement after the meeting said that he believed a "healing deal" could be reached on Monday."We explained why this bailout is not working," he said. "We want a new contract with Europe."
