Greece supports the construction of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) and the Gas Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) pipelines and will work towards their swiftest possible completion, Energy Minister Panagiotis Lafazanis said yesterday, during his visit to Azerbaijan to participate in the first meeting of the advisory council for the Southern Gas Corridor.
"This pipeline is strategic for the European Union and is of common interest," Bulgarian Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova said in a statement after meeting with her Greek counterpart in the Azeri capital Baku. Lafazanis also held a series of contacts with officials to discuss potential benefits from the completion of TAP.
