The 16th Athens Xclusive Designers Week, presenting the trends for season Spring/Summer 2015 was held last week in Athens (24-27 October). Leading Greek and international designers, upcoming talents, as well as journalists, buyers, fashion bloggers, entrepreneurs of the industry and people who just love fashion meet every year since 2007.
In this year’s edition, designer Fotini Baka put together a fashion show in memory of Michalis Aslanis, an acclaimed Greek fashion designer who passed away in 2013. “I wanted to pay tribute to my mentor” she says. “Fashion must be provocative because it is everything but conventional,” Aslanis used to say and Baka borrows his words to start her show.Aslanis studied decoration, graphic arts, history of art and theatre. He began a professional career in fashion in 1974. His work was showcased at numerous shows at home and abroad.
