The National Library and Opera House funded by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNFCC) are not yet complete and ready for public use; however, visitors may admire the work in process from the Visitors Centre of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s Cultural Centre, which has already received more than 23,000 visitors in less than one year.

Designed by Greek architecture students following a nation-wide competition and chosen by the Centre’s architect Renzo Piano, the centre will operate until 2016, when the complex will be delivered to the Greek state.

The visitors centre offers a view to the construction site, informs the public on the sophisticated construction methods used (some of them are a Greek first) and provides details concerning the Cultural Centre’s main components: the National Library of Greece (NLG), the Greek National Opera (GNO), and the Stavros Niarchos Park.
