The Michael Cacoyannis Foundation and the Athenaeum International Cultural Centre in Athens are holding the 38th International Maria Callas Grand Prix – Opera (October 4-11). The 39th International Maria Callas Grand Prix for Piano - will be hosted in May 2015. Young talented opera singers from all over the world are invited to compete in one of the most challenging and esteemed international competitions.

The Maria Callas Grand Prix is an annual cultural event with global influence. It was founded in 1975 by the International Cultural Center Athenaeum and is a member of World Federation of International Music Competitions of UNESCO.

More than 1,800 artists from around the world have competed during its 37 years and many of the winners are now enjoying an international career at major opera houses and important concert halls of the world.
