  • "Oriental Tobacco" in Thessaloniki
The exhibition "Tobacco/101 notes on oriental tobacco" was inaugurated at the Congress Centre of Piraeus Bank, Thessaloniki on September 7 and will run until November 2. 

Through a series of objects, documents and photographs, the exhibition presents the history of oriental tobacco in Greece, while at the same time narrating an important period in the country’s modern history.

Bringing together two established events, the 40th International Computer Music Conference and the 11th Sound & Music Computing Conference, the Onassis Foundation creates a joint event under the title "Music Technology meets Philosophy: From Digital Echos to Virtual Ethos." From September 14 to 20.

  • Vanessa Mae @ Herodeion

Violin prodigy Vanessa Mae returns to Athens for one performance on September 12 at the Herodes Atticus Odeon. Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, as well as pop tunes and Greek songs in the artist’s signature ‘violin techno-acoustic fusion” style will be featured in the much awaited concert.
  • Fidelio @ Benaki Museum
The City of Athens Symphony Orchestra and Choir perform Ludwig van Beethoven's "Fidelio" in concert at Benaki Museum (Pireos Annex) on September 15. The concert, which also features a performance by the experimental Elliniki Opera Troupe, will take place at the Museum’s atrium and admission is free of charge.

  • Sara Baras’ Flamenco Medusa
Flamenco fans around Greece have saved the dates, as Sara Baras will present her latest flamenco show titled "La Guardiana" for three performances in Greece. The acclaimed artist’s choreography explores the Greek myth of Medusa in flamenco key.


In Patras Roman Odeon on September 13, at the Herodes Atticus Odeon on September 15, and at Thessaloniki’s Concert Hall on September 17.
