Greece’s prospects for an exit from the memorandum, European policy, as well as foreign policy issues are expected to be discussed, during a working luncheon, between Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, today (23.09) in Berlin.

Government spokeswoman Sofia Voultepsi noted on Monday (22.09) that the meeting between the two leaders is being held in the context of regular contacts between European political leaders, adding that talks between friends and partners are always useful and constructive for the common European cause and the cooperation between EU member states.

Merkel’s spokesman Steffen Seibert said that Greece’s prospects have brightened. "After a very, very difficult period, there are signs of hope, particularly in the area of economic growth," he said.
