With the slogan "We run faster..than its shadow," more than 18,000 people participated in the 6th edition of "Greece Race for the Cure" that took place September 28, in Athens. All money raised will finance research programmes for the prevention and treatment breast cancer, as well as psycho-therapeutic support and information campaigns.
The event was organised by "Alma Zois," Greece's nationwide association of women with breast cancer. "Race for the Cure" is considered one of the key global initiatives for raising awareness of breast cancer and is organised for the past 31 years in more than 140 cities worldwide by the U.S. organisation "Susan G. Komen for the Cure".
