The 55th Thessaloniki International Film Festival (TIFF) is celebrating the 100-year anniversary of Greek Cinema (1914-2014) and is calling upon its audience to chose their favorite Greek films from a comprehensive list of 200 films, featuring landmark films such as Kostas Bachatoris’ first Greek feature film Golfo (1914), Marinos Kontaras (1948) by Yorgos Tzavellas, the first Greek film to participate in an international film festival and many, many more.

The most popular films will be screened at the 55th TIFF to be held on October 31 to November 9, as part of the tribute to the history of Greek cinema featuring the first silent and talking pictures, the work of important directors and popular stars, as well as a selection of awarded films and samples of various film genres, waves and movements.
