Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos attended the Meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers in Brussels on April 1st. Following the meeting that focused on the crisis in Ukraine and NATO-Russia relations, the NATO Foreign Ministers issued a statement (…) condemning "Russia’s illegal military intervention in Ukraine and Russia’s violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. (…)."

In his statement, on the margins of the meeting, Venizelos underlined that “Our policy is and must always be a policy of principles, based on international law and respect for territorial integrity and existing borders” and added that "we need to keep the channels of political and diplomatic dialogue with Russia open, because we need to avoid a return to cold-war conditions."
