The two-day event is organized by the Hellenic Competition Commission and will focus on the exchange of views on the EU competition law and the promotion of competition culture.
Today - the opening day – speakers include Vice-President responsible for the Competition Policy JoaquĆn Almunia, Minister of Finance Yiannis Stournaras and Minister for Development and Competitiveness Kostas Hatzidakis. The focus is on competition law enforcement and policy issues, namely novel issues in the retail sector, the scope of ensuing enforcement action, judicial review and the use of economic tools to detect and assess collusion. The second day of the event, co-hosted by the Ministry of Finance, will concentrate on developments in the field of state-aid as a tool to foster economic growth, the modernization process of state aid rules and techniques, and more.
