A new book titled "Reflections: Theatres" by Finnish architect Pekka Salminen, is a collection of some of the architectural wonders of the world, from the magnificent 2nd century A.D. Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens to the grandeur of Europe’s 19th-century opera houses.

The Odeon of Herodes Atticus- known as the "Herodeon" - is a stone theater structure, located on the southwest slope of the Acropolis of Athens, is at the top of online newspaper The Telegraph’s list of "The World’s Most Spectacular Theatres," recently published. The venue is easily accessible due to its location in the heart of the city. The Telegraph’s list includes the world’s most important theatres that stand out due to their location, architecture and history.

"Situated on the southwest slope of the Acropolis Hill, Athens, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, completed in 174AD, originally had a wooden roof and a capacity of 5,000. The seating and stage was restored in the 1950s, since when it has hosted concerts by singers ranging from Maria Callas to Elton John," writes the Telegraph. Other theatres on the list include: the Seebühne, Austria; Gran Teatro La Fenice, Italy; and Copenhagen Opera House, Denmark.
