The Committee of the Regions (CoR) of EU and the Region of Attica are holding the 6th European Summit of Regions and Cities at the Athens Megaron Concert Hall in Athens on March 7 and 8, marking the 20th anniversary of the CoR.

There will be 800 delegates participating of, among them, 300 CoR members and local and regional officials. Three high-level sessions will be held on Friday, March 7, first day of the summit, focusing on Europe’s strategy for growth and jobs from a local and regional perspective. The CoR will also present the Athens Declaration with proposals on the future of the Europe 2020 Strategy.

The Summit will focus on efforts made at European, national, regional and local levels to deliver a job-rich recovery. It will also bring a high-level debate with European political leaders about the 2014 European elections and the future of the EU.

The event is supported by the Hellenic Presidency of the Council of the EU, the Information Office of the European Parliament in Athens and the European Commission Representation in Greece.
