"Corfu Nightscapes - A Company of Stars" is an amazing, five-minute time-lapse video of Corfu featuring 60,000 photos taken between 2010 and 2014 by 29-year old Vassilis Metallinos, who, became interested in astronomy a decade ago and has been practicing astrophotography for the last seven years. The music in the video was composed by John Miliadis.

Interviewed by CNN, Metallinos said that the video was inspired by his love for Corfu island -his birthplace - its long and rich history, breathtaking landscapes and his passion for the night sky. He also added that “Corfu also has an important astronomical heritage, as the first Astronomical Society of Greece was founded in Corfu in (1927) by French astronomer Felix Lamech.
