From March 4 to 9, Bozar Cinema will screen eight Greek films not previously shown in Belgium. In the context of the Greek presidency of the Council of the European Union, Bozar and Cinematek are joining forces to present a film festival celebrating the new Greek cinema of the last five years.
During the last five years in cinema, a New Wave has emerged, inaugurated by Dogtooth, directed by Giorgos Lanthimos (2009), and Athina Tsangari's Attenberg (2010), two films that have had a major influence on a new generation of directors. This cinematic event will offer the opportunity for some of these films to be screened in the presence of the respective director, with whom there will be a Q&A session each time. The series will be rounded off by a master class given by the renowned film critic Michel Demopoulos, in which he will make the connection between the Greek cinema of the last five years and the past.
