Minister for Rural Development and Food Athanassios Tsaftaris presented the work programme of the Greek presidency at the EU Council on Agriculture and Fisheries, in Brussels on February 17. Among the main issues were the completion of the work on the reformed Common Agriculture Policy (CAP), the finalisation of the agreement with the European Parliament on the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) and the Aid scheme for the supply of fruit and vegetables and milk in schools.The Council further discussed proposals for promotion measures for agricultural products, the situation in the dairy sector, the Innovation Partnership for agriculture productivity and sustainability, the climatic disaster and effects on agricultural production in Slovenia and the consequences from the outbreak of the African swine fever in Lithuania.
