Deputy Development and Competitiveness Minister Notis Mitarakis is wrapping up his 3-day visit to China (10-13/2) with a visit to Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province in order to attract investments to Greece. While in Beijing, the deputy minister had a series of meetings with Chinese government officials and business delegations, and he was keynote speaker at an Investment Forum organised by the Greek Embassy in collaboration with China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
Mitarakis met with NDRC Vice-President Zhang Xiaogiang yesterday and signed a memorandum on the establishment of a permanent mechanism to enhance bilateral Sino-Greek cooperation in the field of investments. Interviewed by Chinese news agency Xinhua, Mitarikis said that his visit to China had confirmed the existence of investment opportunities and outlined the comparative advantages that Greece has to offer, namely as a "gateway" to Europe and the East.See also: Greek News Agenda: Special Residence Permits for Third Country Nationals & PM Concludes Landmark Visit to China
