Selene Restaurant in Pyrgos, Santorini, with breathtaking views and exquisite dishes earned a place on New York’s 101 Best Restaurants in the World list for this year, as published by the website thedailymeal.com.

Selene, which opened its doors for the first time in 1986 in Fira, Santorini and has since 2010 relocated to Pyrgos, excels in its combination of unique local products, distinctive cuisine with breathtaking views.

The restaurant managed to climb 12 places, making its way from 94th position last year to 82nd this year According to the owners Yiorgos and Evelyn Hatziyannakis, their aim from the very start was "to show and promote local products, along with the local cuisine, hoping that this would enable them to transmit a taste of the island’s culture to their guests."
