"Horizon 2020," the new European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, will be presented by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT) at a special event organised as part of Greece’s EU Presidency of the Council, on Friday, January 10, 2014, at the Demokritos National Centre for Scientific Research.

Officials of the European Commission will present and discuss synergies between the Horizon 2020 and EU Structural Funds, as well as issues related to Information and Communication Technologies, financing opportunities for SMEs and the role of "smart specialization" in regional development and cohesion. The event is under the auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic, Karolos Papoulias, who will attend.
