  • Sacred Monsters@ Athens Concert Hall
A unique dance encounter between kathak (one of six major classical dances of India) contemporary dancer Akram Khan and prima ballerina Sylvie Guillem, titled Sacred Monsters, will be hosted at the Athens Concert Hall on December 19, 21, 22 and 23. "Sacred Monsters is first and foremost the meeting and exchange of two Monstres Sacrés of modern dance but also a flip side to stardom. Having to live up to the expectations of the audience to be perfect, positive and good, there is no more room for failure, imperfection, to express one's real feelings and emotions. The divine status becomes inhuman, monstrous."

  • Christmas with Mozart @ Onassis Cultural Center
Mozart’s Jupiter symphony, described as the most significant symphonic work of the pre-Revolution period of France, will be performed by the Camerata at the Onassis Cultural Center on December 27. The Jupiter proved to be Mozart’s final symphony, and it is highly probable that he did not live to hear it performed.

The Camerata’s classical period instruments, the conducting of George Petrou and the contributions of the Athens City Choir and star soloists will take us back to the magical, authentic sounds of the 18th century and breathe new life into Mozart’s heavenly music and divine melodies.

  • Christmas Music from East and West @ Gazarte
Renowned pianist and conductor Vassilis Tsampropoulos, along with singer of religious chants Nectaria Karantzi play music inspired from Christmas music at Gazarte, on December 19 and 26. Their concert, under the title Genesis, includes music that varies from Bach to traditional Greek carols, Tsampropoulos compositions and Byzantine music. Music from the West and the East interweave in the most creative way.
