C H R I S T M A S  C E L E B R A T I O N S 
  • Christmas out of the Box @ Benaki Museum, Pireos
Shortly before Christmas, the Benaki Museum will be in a holiday mood, and is organising a special two-day event on December 14 and 15 at the Pireos Street Annaxe. At "out of the Box," everyone will have the unique experience of an interactive museum, will take part in workshops and original interventions within the museum; children will choose their own sea in the exhibition Greek Seas and will launch their own boats.

Furthermore, artists and crafts people working in pottery, metal and paper will generously reveal their secrets. Secret musical surprises will be a part of this festive atmosphere.

  • Cheapart @ Athens
CHEAPART, the platform for exchanging ideas, meeting people and fostering collaborations celebrates its 19th anniversary by expanding its network to Lemesos, Vienna and Amsterdam. The exhibition Cheapart 19, will be held at three locations in Athens (Cheapart Gallery, CAMP, and Cheapart.Halandri), from December 13 to 23 with the participation of various artists from all over Europe.

  • The Lady of the Moonlight @ National Opera
The one-act opera The Lady of the Moonlight, penned by one of the leading proponents of Greek Yorgos Sicilianos (1920-2005), based on the famous stage poem by Yiannis Ritsos, Moonlight Sonata, will be premiered at the National Opera, on December 15. The performance is directed by Ilias Kountis; actress Reni Pittaki, actor Aris Papadopoulos and mezzo-soprano Maria Marketoy participate.

  • Rosas / Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker @ Onassis Cultural Centre
Superb violinist Amandine Beyer plays J.S. Bach’s Partita No.2 on stage and dance pioneer Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker along with young choreographer and dancer Boris Charmatz perform at the Onassis Cultural Centre, on December 12 to 14. The two dancers, who share an irrepressible desire to dance, a love for choreographed structure, and a need for freedom of improvisation invite the public to share their passion for movement, in a performance in which we see music and hear dance.
