The Christmas spirit is taking over Greece’s major cities, as a variety of events and festivities are opening the holiday season. Athens welcomes Christmas at the amazing Christmas Factory, Santa and the elves’ toy factory, set in 27,000 square feet festive scenery at the Athens Technopolis.
Children can take closer look at the preparations and help Santa’s team get the presents ready for the big night. It features a Christmas market, an exhibition of traditional toys from all around the world, the Grand carousel, the X-mas wheel and an eco-rollercoaster, huts with Christmas sweets and a lot more. You can also donate toys, books and clothes for children in need at the bazaar held in support to Floga Association and and SOS Children’s Villages.

The city of Drama is hosting one of the most popular events of the season, Oneiroupoli (Dream City), already in its 10th edition, inviting citizens and guests to live the Christmas fairytale at its dreamlike scenery. A festive fairytale is once again on at the city of Trikala: the Mill of the Elves, a stone built old factory, transformed into a toy and confectionery mill run by Santa’s elves. Its numerous activities include the remarkable Christmas cookie workshop and a special recycling workshop for children of all ages. If you find yourself near the city of Veria, don’t miss on a visit to the Christmas Forest: set on the shore of Aliakmonas River under pines and firs, this Christmas-themed park features Santa’s workshops, a “sugar town” and an ice-skating rink in the middle of the forest.
