Two new stations, Anthoupoli and Peristeri, on Line 2 of the Athens metro -located in the heavily populated western suburbs of the capital- were inaugurated on April 5.

The Anthoupoli-Syntagma journey is expected to take 13 minutes. It is estimated that 50,000 commuters will use the new stations each day.

Four more stations on Line 2 -Ilioupoli, Alimos, Argyroupoli, and Elliniko- are expected to be ready by July, 2013, while the Haidari metro station, on Line 3, is expected to be completed by September.
