One hundred and sixty producers of Cretan products and more than forty hotel managers joined forces on March 2, to promote the Cretan breakfast in the forthcoming tourist season, acquainting hoteliers with more than 100 products of the Cretan diet.
An initiative of the Chambers of Commerce of Heraklion, Chania, Rethimno and Lasithi, together with the Heraklion Hotel Association, the 2nd Forum for the Promotion of Cretan products aimed to encourage hotel managers to introduce the gifts of the Cretan land in their breakfast bouffets, supporting local producers and offering top quality products to their clients.

The Cretan breakfast includes unique high-quality products, many of which are of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status with high nutritional value, rich in monounsaturated fats due to the systematic use of olive oil.
Enjoy the wide variety of Cretan dairy products like the Pychtogalo Chanion (a PDO goat or ewe cheese spread), the famous Cretan Graviera (a yellow PDO cheese made of sheep's milk with a pleasant burnt caramel flavour), Xynomizithra (whey low fat soft cheese) and Anthotyros (fresh cheese made with sheep's milk and whey).
