Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, accompanied by a large delegation of ministers and businesspeople, is in Istanbul today, for the 2nd session of the Greek-Turkish High-Level Cooperation Council to be co-chaired by Samaras and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The PM will be received by Turkish President Abdullah Gul and then meet his Turkish counterpart, before both of them attend a Business Forum, jointly organized by the Federation of Greek Industries (SEV), Greece-Turkey Business Council and Turkey's Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK).
Samaras will also be received by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. Approximately 20 agreements, protocols and memorandums will be signed by the two sides, relating to transport, health, tourism and illegal immigration, as well as between the two countries’ Secretariats of Communication, Institutes of Meteorology and Greece’s Public Broadcaster ERT and Turkey’s TRT.
