The Swedish Institute of Athens is hosting an exhibition entitled KRIS, an art essay on the notion of crisis, which runs until February 22. The exhibition-named after the Swedish word for crisis - aims to contribute to the public debate concerning the causes of the crisis and the role of politics in alleviating the situation.

Several Swedish artists, including Cecilia Järdemar and Jesper Nordahl, will be in Greece to present their views on the issue of the so-called north-south divide, widely popularised by the media. According to the curators, crisis "is an indication, if not the culmination of an absence - the inevitability of a withdrawal", and this particular absence is investigated in this display.

The exhibition also includes two separate discussions, one with the Swedish artists, the other with artists-academics Aris Fioretos and Alexandra Deligiorgi as guests.
