A Greek-Russian Tourism Forum was held yesterday at the Acropolis Museum, with the participation of 48 leading Russian tour operators and travel agents. The forum, which was the highlight event of a three-day visit, was organized by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels in collaboration with the Tourism Ministry.
Addressing the event, Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni focused on the potential of the Russian market for Greek tourism, stressing that the ministry promotes alternative forms of tourism, as well as investments that could meet the standards of demanding visitors, such as the Russians.
Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Kourkoulas, Russian Ambassador to Greece Vladimir Chkhikvishvili, Government Spokesman Simos Kedikoglou and the President of the Greek-Russian Chamber of Commerce Christos Dimas also addressed the forum, as did the Deputy Head of the Russian Agency for Tourism Evgeny Pisarevskiy and the Vice-President of the Russian Union of Travel Yury Barzykin.
