  • Painting I - Eclectic affinities @ The Frissiras Museum
The first part of a trilogy, titled Painting I - Eclectic Affinities, is being hosted by the Frissiras Museum, from January 19 to May 12.


Through the works presented, the exhibition examines artistic expression within the sociopolitical context in Greece, alongside with that of Europe, between1960-1980.


  • Sacaillan @ Calfayan Gallery
The Athens Kalfayan Gallery is hosting a solo exhibition by Edouard Sacaillan until February 23.

The show presents a fresh body of work in which the artist explores the isolation and loneliness of contemporary man through the most basic and primal aspects of human nature and sexuality. Sacaillan has given no titles to his paintings, which he describes as "motivations and adventures".

  • I Vespri Siciliani @ The Athens Concert Hall

On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Giuseppe Verdi, the National Opera presents Verdi’s I Vespri Siciliani (The Sicilian Vespers) at the Athens Concert Hall, from January 24 to 27. Directed by Renato Zanella and conducted by Myron Michailidis.
  • Wilhem Latchoumia @ The Onassis Cultural Centre
Wilhem Latchoumia, winner of the Orléans International Piano Competition in 2006, will perform at the Onassis Cultural Centre, on January 29.


A champion of new music, Latchoumia is nonetheless well-grounded in the history of piano compositions. In his OCC recital, he will perform a wide range of French 20th- and 21st-century music.
  • Ray Gelato & The Giants @ Gazarte
Ray Gelato and his showband, The Giants, will perform their popular jump'n'jive and swinging sound at the Gazarte on January 25 and 26. A saxophonist, vocalist and frontman, Gelato is influenced by Sinatra, Bennett and Prima.
