Greece's General Government primary budget balance recorded a surplus of € 2.3 billion in the first 11 months of 2012, according to a
statement issued by the
Ministry of Finance, compared to a primary deficit of € 3.6 billion for the corresponding period of 2011. The state's outstanding debts were reduced by € 119 million in November.
The statement also notes that the General Government data from the January-November 2012 period "confirm the satisfactory execution of the budget", noting that these
positive developments evince that the conditions are being created for the economy’s gradual recovery.
