Greece is now an official member of the international initiative Open Government Partnership (OGP) following the acceptance of the Greek Action Plan on Open Government that was submitted by Deputy Administrative Reform Minister Pantelis Tzortzakis, at the organisation's annual conference, which was concluded in Brazil ,on April 19.
The OGP is an initiative that began in the framework of the UN, aimed at securing specific commitments by the governments of participant countries.Their aim is to achieve aiming for transparency and crack down on corruption, as well as increase the degree of citizens' involvement at all levels of public administration.
