Environment, Energy and Climate Change Minister George Papaconstantinou was in Paris on March 29-30 to participate in a ministerial meeting of the OECD Environment Policy Committee (EPOC) with the theme "Making Green Growth Deliver."

Environment ministers discussed future priorities for action based on the OECD Environmental Outlook to 2050: The Consequences of Inaction, which makes a strong case for green growth policies and adopted a policy statement in view of the Rio+20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development to be held in June. Addressing the event, Papaconstantinou stressed Greece’s interest in green growth as a useful tool towards economic growth and job creation.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Papaconstantinou held talks with OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria. Greek News Agenda: OECD Report on the Euro Area March Overview
