Prime Minister George Papandreou is travelling to Cannes today to discuss developments in Greece with EU leaders, on the sidelines of a G20 Summit. Meanwhile, the premier called an extraordinary cabinet last night, which unanimously endorsed his plan to hold a referendum on the latest EU aid deal. The plan, however, has caused turmoil within the ruling party -an MP has resigned cutting PASOK’s parliamentary majority to two. The debate over a crucial confidence vote begins today to conclude on Friday at midnight with a roll-call vote.
