Abducted by Hades, the god of the Underworld, Persephone, the daughter of the goddess of the earth, Demeter, takes a leap back to this world. Hecate nearby, no doubt, guards the entrance, while the cosmic powers hold a debate.

These are just three of the 85 bronze statues by artist Vana Xenou on show in the Greek National Garden under the theme 'The soul of the place.'

The title is relevant to the sacredness of the site of the National Garden, where in antiquity a park dedicated to god Apollo stood, and which is mentioned in Platonic Dialogue Phaedrus. Owing to the great interest shown by the public, the exhibition will continue until September 26.
