Six out of eight million of people who visit the Louvre Museum every year, dedicate their time to admire three main exhibits: the statue of Goddess Aphrodite of Milos, the statue of the Winged Victory of Samothrace and Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.
After six months of cleaning and restoration work at the museum, Venus "remerges." Over the centuries, the statue’s colour had darkened, faded into dark brown, and signs of earlier centuries’ abuses had started to appear, leaving stains on the originally milky-white skin of the Goddess.
As of now, the statue will be placed on a red pedestal, in a much larger hall, which allows visitors to move around unimpeded and 'rediscover' the statue’s beauties from different angles.
