Α Greek-German production titled "Akadimia Platonos" (Plato's Academy) by film director Filippos Tsitos is among the 10 films that have been shortlisted for the European Parliament's Lux (Light) Prize for European Cinema 2010.
The nine other shortlisted films are: Szabolcs Hajdu's "Bibliothèque Pascal," Feo Aladag's "Die Fremde," Olivier Masset-Depasse's "Illegal," Sharunas Bartas' "Indigène d'Eurasie," Luca Guadagnino's "Io sono l'amore," Pietro Marcello's "La bocca del lupo," Jessica Hausner's "Lourdes," Calin Peter Netzer's "Medalia de onoare," and "R" by Tobias Lindholm and Michael Noer.
The Lux Prize consists of assistance in kind in the form of subtitling and video-to-film transfer (kinescopage) of the winning film in the 23 official EU languages. The prize will be awarded on November 24, in Strasbourg.
