On a two-day official visit to Sofia, Greek PM Papandreou highlighted yesterday the cooperation possibilities between Greece and Bulgaria after the first joint session of the Greek-Bulgarian High Level Cooperation Council.
The two premiers discussed the impact of the economic crisis in the Balkan region and delved into measures tackling the problem.
On his part, Papandreou underlined that the continuation of the suspended Burgas- Alexandroupoli pipeline ranked among the top Greek priorities. He also stressed that renewable energy resources were a key driver of growth and welcomed Bulgaria’s intention to promote along with Greece the South Stream and TGI natural gas pipelines.
In the context of the meetings, the two premiers signed 13 agreements in areas ranging from finance, energy and transport to labour, healthcare and culture.
