The Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) is holding its Fifth Annual Competition and Regulation European Summer School and Conference (CRESSE) which is taking place in Chania, Crete, from June 25 to July 9. The 2010 CRESSE conference will focus on "Advances in the Analysis of Competition Policy and Regulation.”

The CRESSE Summer School brings together many leading economists and legal experts in competition and regulation policy, from over 25 distinguished EU Universities, as well as from law practices, authorities and economic consultancies.

• Tribute to Marathon Battle in Delphi

The 2,500th anniversary of the Battle of Marathon will be commemorated with a number of events to take place at the archaeological site of Delphi, in central Greece, from July 2 to 4 at the European Cultural Centre of Delphi. Participants include academics, political scientists, and university professors of classics, history, and archaeology.

The events include a symposium on "Marathon: The Day After," the screening of a documentary titled "2,500 years since the Battle of Marathon," directed by Maria Hatzimichali-Papaliou, as well as an exhibition of paintings and sculptures titled "Marathon: On the Work of Eight Contemporary Greek Artists."
