Italian composer Nicola Piovani comes to Athens for one concert on May 17 at the Athens Concert Hall.
Italy’s most prolific film score composer, with more than 130 film scores to his credit, will present his best known film pieces and themes, including the 1998 Oscar-awarded score from Begnini’s La Vita è Bella, as well as Fellini films scores. Piovani will be accompanied by the National Television Orchestra.

Photographer George Bartholomaios explores the, now abandoned, industrial complex of Lavrion mineral mines in pictures taken back in 1987.
The exhibition, titled Lavrium: The Settings of a Place, depicts the interior spaces of a de-industrialised zone through the use of chiaroscuro technique to artistically convey the atmosphere of the "absent" human factor. In Benaki Museum, Pireos Annex, until May 20.

- Pekka of Finland
An exhibition featuring ten of Finland’s top international illustrators from Agent Pekka design team. Pekka of Finland: Contemporary Illustration from the Land of Booze and Blondes brings forth the latest of Finland’s influential design scene and is part of World Design Capital Helsinki 2012.
The event is organized by the Finnish Institute at Athens and the City of Athens, and is held at Athens City Cultural Centre until May 24.

An art exhibition titled Rue de l'Ouest 100. Mec Art Graphic 1972 is being held at the Macedonian Museum of Modern Art.
The exhibition hosts a collection of avant-garde French art recently donated by art book editor Magda Kotzia and features 60 works from the Paris art scene between 1968-1972, as experienced by Kotzia, who started her editing carreer there in 1968. Until May 27.

- Bob Theatre Festival
The Bob Theatre Festival 2012 is currently taking place until May 20 at Bios cultural centre. The festival features several theatrical plays, Dj sets, radio parties, and live music performances.
With productions by different theatre groups or artists, the Festival has become a meeting point for young artists, spotlighting the promotion and networking of young theatre companies.
