The President of the Council of State, Panayiotis Pikrammenos, was appointed, yesterday, by Hellenic Republic President, Karolos Papoulias to lead a caretaker government to take the country to fresh elections, set for June 17. The new PM has been, since 2010, the head of Greece’s highest administrative court.
The new caretaker PM was sworn in yesterday evening, and later announced his government which includes veteran diplomat Petros Molyviatis, as Foreign Minister, the Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors, George Zanias as Finance Minister, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Law Professor Antonis Manitakis, as Interior Minister, the Foundation of Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) General Director Yannis Stournaras, as Development, Competitiveness and Shipping Minister, former Hellenic Army General Staff Chief Fragos Fragoulis, as Defence Minister.
